Board Members
David Hendrickson
David Hendrickson
David is the founder of Lighthouse Ministries. He first went to Belize with another mission group back in 2009 and fell in love with the incredible people of Belize and felt called to create our own mission to Belize, beginning Lighthouse Ministries. Dave always remembers the joy of the children every time the group arrives at the schools we work with in Belize. Calling it a life changing moment, he hopes everyone will get the chance to experience it.
Pat Hendrickson
Pat Hendrickson
Pat has been involved with Lighthouse Ministries since it first began in 2013. During her first trip, she fell in love with the joy-filled people of Belize, despite what little they had. Pat’s most memorable moments in Belize are when she arrives at the schools the group works with and the children welcome her with smiles, hugs, and unwavering love. That is what reminds her what the Lighthouse mission is all about.
Ellie Thalacker
Ellie Thalacker
Ellie has been a part of Lighthouse Ministries since it was created. She attended the first trip to Belize back in 2013, the day after she graduated high school. Since the very first trip, Ellie fell in love with the people and culture of Belize. A surreal experience for her is knowing the Lighthouse team is able to provide a safe education to many children.
Ken Hoffman
Ken Hoffman
Ken has been an integral member of Lighthouse since its creation. Being immediately intrigued by Lighthouse’s purpose and finding joy in helping others, Ken “makes David’s vision a reality” by setting up the corporation with the State of Wisconsin and filing legal forms with the IRS. He’s very proud of how far Lighthouse has come.
Diane Fremgen
Diane Fremgen
Starting with Lighthouse when she volunteered to help make pizzas during our pizza fundraiser in 2015, Diane attended her first trip to Belize with the group in 2018. She immediately fell in love with the schools and children of Belize and understands the importance and impact of making education accessible.
Cheryl McCollum
Cheryl McCollum
Cheryl joined with Lighthouse Ministries in 2018 after hearing about the trip from others. After her first time to Belize she could not stop thinking and praying for the children and their families she met. Every trip to Belize is a blessing for Cheryl and it keeps her grounded on what’s important in life.
Barb Uselman
Barb Uselman
Barb has been a part of Lighthouse since the beginning, noticing that the hearts of the Belizean people shined with gratitude for every small thing they were given despite their own hardships. The most memorable time in Belize for Barb was when the families of St. Joseph School brought fruit to share with the group from their homes even though they may not have had enough for themselves, remembering being so deeply touched by their kindness and generosity and the joy that they showed in giving.
